Sean O'Toole - Founder & Charter Organization Rep.




Sean works for Hapag-Lloyd, the fifth largest container line in the world.  He has worked for them for over 15 years and is currently their Senior Port Operations Manager in the Port of Charleston.  He has served on boards of the Maritime Association of South Carolina (MASC) and the Propeller Club of the Port of Charleston.   He is currently a trustee for the National Transportation Week (NTW) an organization that awards scholarships annually to students interested in or associated with the transportation industry.  He works with the Seafarers Society of the Port of Charleston which is dedicated to serving the needs of the seaman that call the port and the waterfront community as a whole.          


He has been married for 24 years to Molly from Sullivan’s Island.  They have three children: Catherine, Killian, and Rory. They are members of St. Benedict Catholic Church where he serves or has served as a lector, usher, and a religious education teacher.   He is a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus.  He attended Bishop England High School, the College of Charleston, and received an MBA from the Citadel.  

 

He is a Founding Member of Troop 529 and Scout Master for 4 years. He was involved with scouting when he was young in San Diego, CA and when he returned to the Charleston Area.  As an adult he has been involved for over 15 years.  He has held numerous leadership positions in Cub Scouting including Cubmaster for Pack 505 in Mount Pleasant and Assistant Cubmaster for Pack 4900 in Atlanta. He has completed all leader specific training including Scoutmaster  as well as Basic Outdoor Leadership Orientation (BALOO), Trainer Development Conference,  Merit Badge Counselor Orientation,  Safe Swim Defense, Youth protection and Virtus Training, earned his Wood Badge beads.  He is certified in CPR and First Aid and Wilderness First Aid

 

He served in the US Naval Reserves for eight years.  He studied the martial arts and received a black belt in Shaolin-Kempo Karate, an orange in Ho Shin Do Karate, and a white in Brazilian Jujitsu.  He is a certified SCUBA diver, received Advanced Open Water training, and has done cavern and cave diving. He is an avid outdoorsmen, enjoying fishing, hunting and water sports.  He has experience canoeing and whitewater rafting, has a history of backpacking, and snow skis when he can.



Brian Womble-Chairman and Treasurer



Brian Womble and his wife, Catherine, have lived in Mt. Pleasant and been St. Benedict's Parishioners since 2010. Their three children attend Bishop England High School, Academic Magnet High School, and Christ Our King Stella Maris School (COKSM). Brian has worked for the FBI for over 20 years. He has taught at the FBI Academy and at the International Law Enforcement Academy in Budapest, Hungary, and is the recipient of the FBI Agents Association Award for Investigative Excellence and the FBI Excellence in Leadership Award. Prior to the FBI, Brian served as an infantry officer in the USMC. Brian coached middle school basketball at COKSM for six years, and led his teams to titles in the South Carolina Catholic Diocese Tournament and the Charleston Trident Basketball League.

Catherine Womble-Training Chair



Catherine Womble, and her husband Brian have lived in Mt. Pleasant and been St. Benedict's Parishioners since 2010. Their three children (Brenden, Justin, and Claire) attend Bishop England High School, Academic Magnet High School, and Christ Our King Stella Maris School (COKSM). Catherine is originally from Los Angeles and grew up in a Scouting family.  After graduating from Pepperdine University, she completed graduate school at San Diego State University.  The Wombles have been married over 20 years and have lived in California, Rhode Island and Virginia before settling in South Carolina.  Catherine is a social worker (LISW-CP) and works for the South Carolina Department of Mental Health.  She loves to spend time with her busy family, run, hike, and read.  Catherine has been the Training Chair for Troop 529 since 2016 and is a certified BSA  Religious Emblem instructor.

Chris Sjolander-Activities


Chris Sjolander is an Engineering Teacher at Wando High School.  He has served the students of Wando since 2013, and has been a teacher since 2008.  Prior to that, Chris was an automotive engineer at Ford Motor Company.  Chris is the former Scout Master of Troop 529.  He served in that role from October 2016 through August 2019.   Chris also served as an Assistant Den Leader for Den 3, in Pack 505.
