SSS Double Trouble

WHO WE ARE: SHIP 3377 is a growing part of the Boy Scouts of America - Sea Scouts program and is the only Ship charted in South Austin - Thunderbird District.  Our program is co-educational and includes active youth members from age 14 to 21.

Sea Scouting is over 100 years old and was started in 1912.  Sea Scouts have sailed the high seas in search of adventure, while providing assistance to fellow boaters in need.  Advancement is an important part of the Sea Scout experience.  These experiences help Sea Scouts to set realistic goals to achieve rank, accomplish projects, and gain knowledge and understanding of the world around them.  There are many opportunities for advancement in Sea Scouts and only four ranks: Apprentice, Ordinary, Able and Quartermaster.  Other awards Sea Scouts may earn include the Small-Boat Handler bar, the Qualified Seaman bar, and the Long Cruise badge.

We are always looking for additional crew members that are dedicated to scouting and that want to learn more about maritime resources and are interested in water based activities.

MEETINGS: We meet on the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month, excluding Holidays, from 7 - 8:30 pm at the VFW Post 3377 located at 12921 Lowden Lane, Manchaca, Texas 78652.  Please let us know if you want to visit by clicking here as our meeting location may have changed due to our scheduled activities.
